The purpose of the grant is to provide prevention assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless (many due to economic crisis) and to provide assistance to rapidly re-house persons who are homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. The funding served as a last resort for those in a shelter, on the street, in transitional housing or in imminent danger of becoming homeless.
