City Council Approves Award of Bond Projects

The Garland City Council approved the award of two 2019 Bond Program projects Sept. 3.

  • The architectural design and construction administration for the $12 million Animal Shelter
  • The construction and installation of LED lighting for the soccer fields at Winters Park awarded for $2 million; the work would start in November once the fall soccer season ends with plans for completion in February, in time for the spring season

Both projects were approved by Garland residents as part of the 2019 Bond Program in May. City staff, with the support of the City Council, are working hard to promptly deliver all projects approved by the voters.

More 2019 Bond Program projects that are coming up for City Council approval:

  • The Architectural Design for the $18 million Police Evidence and Property Facility
  • The Construction Manager Services for the $18 million Police Evidence and Property Facility
  • The review of potential sites selected by City officials for the relocations of two fire stations and the Walnut Creek Branch Library
