2. Voluntary neighborhood associations may apply once a year receive up to $500 in small grants to host events that strengthen connections among neighbors, celebrate successes, promote the benefits of collective action, create a forum for active problem solving, or obtain input from neighbors. Funding is contingent on budget availability. Please apply at least 8 weeks before your event/project. Below are the conditions for receiving assistance for your neighborhood event:

   1. We verify we are voluntary neighborhood group registered with the Office of Neighborhood Vitality or engaged in the organizing process.
   2. We are submitting this request at least 8 weeks before our event/project
   3. We will follow the City of Garland Special Event guidelines and will apply for permits if deemed necessary.
   4. We will utilize Garland vendors when possible.
   5. No alcohol will be purchased using City funds.
   6. Receipts will be submitted for all items purchased
   7. An evaluation form will be submitted to the Office of Neighborhood Vitality along with event receipts . (Failure to comply may impact future funding)
